Let me tell you another story to see if I can make this clearer, back to my selling days for another trading analogy. Whenever we started a new selling project we would come up with an idea for a product and in order to test whether the product had legs we would write a very rough sales pitch and get on the phone. We fully expected that there would be lots of objections and no’s and that was the whole point! We wanted to see what the objections were so we could improve our sales process.

Whenever people turned us down we would ask why and get the information we needed. Within a few days we knew whether the project was likely to succeed and also we knew what we needed to do to develop the product and improve our sales pitch. Those mistakes we made in our initial sales pitch were of great value as they led us to be able to perfect our performance.
